The UAP topic has suffered for decades because it is usually pushed into two bad corners: blind belief or automatic ridicule. A new science advisory effort is now being discussed to help the U.S. government evaluate UAP cases more seriously. DefenseScoop reports that a science advisory council has formed to help resolve the UAP question, and Avi Loeb has separately argued for a UAP Science Advisory Council focused on evidence, instrumentation, and scientific standards. This is the right direction. Eyewitness reports alone are not enough. Videos alone are usually not enough. A proper investigation needs calibrated instruments, known observing conditions, independent review, and data that outside experts can test.
A serious UAP program should not begin with aliens. It should begin with measurement.
