On April 24, 1964, Socorro, New Mexico police officer Lonnie Zamora witnessed a metallic, egg-shaped craft in a remote desert area while on duty. He reported seeing two small figures near the object before it lifted off with a loud roar and visible flame. After the object departed, investigators found burned vegetation and landing impressions at the scene. The incident was officially investigated by the U.S. Air Force under Project Blue Book. Despite a full federal investigation, the case was never explained and remains classified as unidentified.
This is considered one of the most credible historical UFO cases due to the trained law enforcement witness, physical evidence, and official government investigation.
